Demand to remove the requirement of graduation to become a teacher

The National Struggle Committee has demanded to remove the provision that a teacher must have passed graduation.

The committee has made such a request to the office of the education committee of the Federal Parliament to amend the provision in the Bill 2080 to amend and unify the law on school education.

In the draft of the Education Bill, it is proposed that basic level teachers should have a bachelor’s degree in any subject, subject teachers should have a bachelor’s degree in a related subject, and secondary level teachers should have a master’s degree in a related subject.

Similarly, there is a demand to correct the age limit. In the proposed education bill, the age limit for teachers is 21 years and not 35 years. But they demand that they should be 18 years old and not 40 years old.

“Secondary education pass examination will be conducted by the national examination board and the basic examination will be conducted by the local level, without providing a practical, technical, employable and self-employed curriculum that can compete with the international market based on local demand, the arrangement to be conducted by the SEE Republic Examination Board will be the same as before.” Also mentioned in the proposed demand.

The committee has made six demands including that the children of any teachers and employees affiliated to public schools must be taught in the school they teach in, and if not, action will be taken as prescribed.
