The principal beat the student for commenting on the boy’s post on Facebook

A complaint has been lodged with the police saying that Mohan Bagale, the headmaster of Mangalamaya Secondary School in Kamal Rural Municipality of Jhapa, beat up the students to the point of death.

Principal Bagale beat Nirjala Baskota, a class 11 student, to death on the pretext of commenting on her Facebook status.

Another student criticized the principal in a Facebook post. Nirjala said that she had commented on it “not a bit”. She said that on Tuesday in the school office, the headmaster was beaten on the leg with a water drain.

The girl has bruises on her feet due to the beating. After the beating, Principal Bagale called Nirjala’s father and made him sign the paper.

Bagale, the principal who was involved in the beating, said that he came to the area police office Damak to discuss the incident.

Kamal Rural Municipality was declared Balmaitri Rural Municipality only two months ago. Violence against children has been seen in the municipality which is said to be child-friendly.
